Maradona congratulates Argentina

Argentina’s former number 10 Diego Maradona expressed his pride after Argentina’s qualification for the 2018 World Cup.

“I am very happy because we continue to maintain the respect of the world for the blue and white,” Maradona wrote on his instagram post.

The message was posted by Maradona with a picture of Lionel Messi where Messi was celebrating qualification to the World Cup with teammates.

Maradona, known for his eccentricity had previously posted a video for his fans with the message "The selection was always above any name."

The post was quite ironic as it showed a video where Maradona was seen juggling and warming up with various teams he had featured for during his playing career.

The message was posted before the start of Argentina’s crucial qualifier against Ecuador.
