'Messi and Suarez used to take 50 euros a day off me'
Barca player Yerry Mina revealed the training ground bets he used to have with talisman Lionel Messi and fowrard Luis Suarez.
The 23-year-old suggested that, to help him settle into his new club, he used to bet with the Barca duo in training -- a bet that involved free-kicks. Though it didn’t take long for Messi and Suarez to win those bets but the Colombian admitted that he was just happy to watch.
“When I arrived, to create a good atmosphere I started to bet with Messi and Suarez to see who took the best free-kicks in training, I did it just to watch them.” the Colombian player was quoted as saying by Goal.
“Before I knew it, they were taking 50 euros a day off me. And I was like, 'What, I'm paying for these guys to go shopping!' But the truth is those monsters put the ball wherever they want it. They are fantastic people and they are wizards.” he added.
The centre-back's future remains a hot topic this summer, with a move away from Camp Nou looking almost certain as Everton, Manchester United and Lyon continue to be linked with an interest. The 23-year-old admitted he is still unsure what his future holds and said he is remaining calm over the situation.
“In terms of my future, I have no idea but I'm calm about it. I'm 23 years old and have a lot of football left to play.” he concluded. Mina had a fantastic World Cup campaign with Colombia and scored three goals which surely would improve his market value if he were to seek a move away from the Camp Nou.
