Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) on Saturday announced a cash reward of Tk 60 lakh for the players and management of the national men's football team for qualifying for the second round of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers.

"Today, the executive committee had an emergency meeting where we approved Tk 60 lakh as a winning bonus for the team," BFF president Kazi Salahuddin told the media at a press briefing at the BFF Bhaban on Saturday.

Earlier, Bangladesh qualified for the second round after defeating the Maldives 3-2 on aggregate in the preliminary round.

Now, Javier Cabrera's charges will compete in the second round of the qualifiers in Group I alongside Australia, Palestine and Lebanon.

The second round will kick off on November 16, with an away match against 27 ranked Australia.

But to make the trip down under possible, the BFF requires Tk 1.25-1.50 crores, claimed Salahuddin.

Hence, the BFF president made a plea for sponsors for the qualifiers campaign of the national team.

"If any corporate house, individual or banks are interested to sponsor the three qualifiers matches abroad, we are open to listen to them. If someone sponsors the national team, we will be grateful."
