‘Do the Neymar if you catch fire’
Neymar drew criticism for his antics at the World Cup as memes and jokes about the Brazilian rolling around after being tackled, made the rounds on social media. It has been three months since the tournament ended but people are still finding ways to bring up Neymar’s theatrics with crazy twists to the tale.
Dublin Fire Brigade wanted to aware people on what to do in case they catch fire during Halloween. While having a playful dig at the Brazilian footballer, the Irish capital’s fire service advised people who end up in difficulty to "stop, drop and roll" to smother any flames.
“Running will only fan the flames,” the post read and opined that it was better to hit the ground and do a roll just the way Neymar did.
STOP, DROP & ROLL. If you find yourself in a position where your costume, or clothes, catch fire do the #Neymar. Running will only fan the flames and help the fire spread. STOPPING, DROPPING & ROLLING will smother the flames. pic.twitter.com/SjgdPOT3Pe Dublin Fire Brigade (@DubFireBrigade) October 30, 2018
They proceeded to share a video of the footballer sliding before rolling in the ground during the World Cup. The fire service has been actively campaigning about the dangers of fireworks and bonfires in the lead up to Halloween.
Fireworks in Ireland are illegal but every year the service is called out to hundreds of fire-related incidents on October 31.
