Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club and Bangladesh Police FC will have to wait for their quarterfinal berths of Independence Cup after they were held by Rahmatganj MFS and BFF Elite Academy in their respective Group D encounters at different venues today.

Rahmatganj came from two goals down to play out a 2-2 draw against Sheikh Jamal at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla. Sheikh Jamal went ahead in the stoppage time of the first half with a strike from Otabek Jonov before Shakil Hossain doubled the margin eight minutes into the second half.

Rahmatganj hit back strongly to score twice in span of seven minutes as Fatkhulo Fatkhulloev pulled one goal back in the 62th minute before substitute Samin Yasir levelled the margin in the 69th minute to keep the Old Dhaka outfit in the race with one point from two outings.

At the Birshreshtha Shaheed Flight Lt Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj, Bangladesh Police played out a 1-1 draw against BFF Elite Academy as Mirajul Islam equalised in the 40th minute for Elite Academy after Enrique Morillo struck six minutes earlier for Police.

After two rounds of matches, Sheikh Jamal and Bangladesh Police are jointly on top with four points and are scheduled to clash on November 24, while Rahmatganj and BFF Academy, with one point apiece, will square off on the same day.
