'They came out with hunger and energy'
Indian coach Suren Kumar Chettri congratulated Bangladesh for their maiden win against India in the SAFF Women's Championship on Tuesday.
"I want to congratulate Bangladesh. The way they played was appreciable. They were full of energy and hunger for the game today," Chettri said at the post-match press conference after a 3-0 loss to Bangladesh in Group A match in Kathmandu.
"I would say it was not a bad day. We played very badly and it was a big loss for us but we are still in the race," Chettri said. "Bangladesh were very good and got the result. Our team was missing that hunger. We also made some individual errors and it cost us."
With a third win in a row, Bangladesh emerged as Group A champions.
They will play the semifinal against Bhutan on Friday while Group B runners-up India will face hosts Nepal on the same day.
