Ten-man Abahani stunned group leaders Bengaluru FC with a 2-0 victory in an AFC Cup encounter at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka today.

The Bangladesh Premier League champions, who came into the match on the back of three consecutive defeats, turned the table in the last ten minutes of the match after having been on the back foot for large parts of the game.

The Sky Blues were reduced to ten men when defender Nasiruddin Chowdhury got his second yellow card on 81 minutes, but the home side took the lead six minutes later when young Saad Uddin, having come off the bench on 75 minutes, volleyed home Jonathan David’s chip from inside the box.

With the current runners-up and group leaders Bengaluru going all out for the equaliser, Abahani struck again in the third minute of added time when winger Rubel Mia found the back of the net with an audacious strike from the centre circle after Bengaluru goalkeeper Arminder Singh was disposessed near near the midfield by Abahani's Emeka Onuhua.

Abahani lie jointly at the bottom of the group alongside Mohun Bagan with three each while Bengaluru are still on top with nine points, followed by Maziya FC of Maldives.
