Imranur misses out on final by 0.02 seconds
Bangladesh's fastest sprinter Imranur Rahman failed to qualify for the finals of the 100m sprint in Asian Athletics Championship in Thailand today after clocking 10.40s, which is 0.15 seconds more than the time that he had set in the heat yesterday.
The fastest man of Bangladesh took 10.40 seconds in his race, finishing in 11th position among 24 competitors, as the top eight sprinters made it to Saturday's final.
Imranur, who specialises in 60m sprints, made a promising start and led till three-quarters of the race before falling behind the others.
The England-based sprinter had clocked 10.25 seconds, his personal best, in heat on Thursday.
Top qualifier Hiroki Yanagita of Japan took 10.14 seconds while the eighth and last one, Chen Jiapeng of China, took 10.38 seconds.
