Boishakhi Triathlon 2025 held in Cox's Bazar

The scenic coastal city of Cox's Bazar came alive with vibrant energy as the Boishakhi Triathlon 2025 was held under the motto "Swim, Ride, Run – Boishakhi Fun!".

Organised under the overall supervision of the Bangladesh Army's 10 Infantry Division and supported by the Cox's Bazar District Administration, the event took place today (Saturday) morning.

The triathlon spanned from Rezu canal through Baywatch, Lal Kakra Beach, and Patuartek, combining swimming, cycling, and running in a celebration of courage, physical and mental development, and tourism promotion.

A total of 198 participants — 196 men, including a foreign national, and two women — took part in the competition.

In the professional category, Md. Shamsuzzaman emerged as the top male athlete, while Ferdousi Akter Maria claimed the top position among women.

In the amateur category, Md. Mahiuddin secured the top spot among male participants.

At the end of the competition, Major General Mohammad Asadullah Minhajul Alam, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 10 Infantry Division and Area Commander of Cox's Bazar — distributed prizes among the winners. In his speech as the chief guest, he noted that such events will contribute significantly to the tourism sector.

The top 10 participants in each category received commemorative crests, while all finishers were awarded attractive medals and e-certificates. Participants expressed their hope that such events will be organised regularly in the future.
