CNBL-Indigo TT Tournament: Sujan Mahmud wins singles title

Sujan Mahmud from the 1994 batch emerged as the champion of the CNBL-Indigo Table Tennis Tournament, organised by Club Notredamians Bangladesh Limited. This is his second straight title in the club's annual TT tournament in the singles category.

The tournament took place at the club's Banani premises from November 28 to 30, with 40 participants from batches spanning 1983 to 2007.

In this year's competition, Md Ziaul Haque Rajib (1998 batch) secured the runner-up position, while Mohammad Saiful Alam Dipu (1998 batch) claimed third place, and Mohammad Badrul Alam (1991 batch) finished fourth.

President of the Club Notredamians and member of the Governor's Committee of Notre Dame College Brigadier General Md Refayet Ullah (retd) distributed prizes among the winners.

The club president commended the spirit in which the tournament was held. He said sports can be a tool to strengthen the brotherhood among the club members.

He said the club has allocated two floors for table tennis, billiard and snooker, carom board, chess and international bridge in the new building of Road 10 of Banani in this regard.

"We will introduce some new facilities in the club very soon," he added.

EC member (sports) Mohammad Khaled Bin Salam expressed his gratitude to sponsors -- Indigo Marble and Granite, Pinewood Cafe & Kitchen, Acfintax, Shalban Resort, Arla Foods, and Acme Beverage Limited -- for their support. He hoped for regular sports events at the club.

The prize-giving ceremony was attended by EC members Mohammad Badrul Hassan, Mohammad Arif Chowdhury, Sheikh Aminur Rahman, and Khaled Faisal Rahman, along with TT coach Mohammad Shakhawat and over 50 club members.
