Siddikur in 109th place
Siddikur Rahman got off to a horrific start at the Omega European Masters tournament yesterday, falling well behind the pack and finding himself in joint-109th place with a three-over-par.
The country's premier golfer -- who became the first Bangladeshi athlete to gain direct qualification into the Olympics at the recently-concluded Games in Rio -- had a torrid outing at the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club in Crans Montana.
He started off horribly, hitting two bogeys and double bogey while playing the 10th-18th holes first and then recovered to card a bogey and two birdies on the next nine.
Four other players were joint-first with scores of six-under-par.
