No replacement for injured Yasir

The national cricket team's selectors are not considering any replacement for injured batter Yasir Ali, who has been ruled out of the upcoming two-match Test series against the West Indies after suffering a back injury in the warm-up game.

"We are not considering any replacement right at this moment as the first Test is going to start from June 16 in Antigua. If there is any demand from the team management for the second Test, then we will think about it tomorrow or day after tomorrow," said national selector Habibul Bashar.

There are now 14 players available for the Test series in West Indies and the former national skipper believes Yasir's injury will not be an issue if any case requires a concussion substitute during the game as batter Mosaddek Hossain is with the team.

The second Test is scheduled to start on June 24 in Saint Lucia.

Yasir, who was expected to make a comeback to the playing eleven in the absence of the experienced Mushfiqur Rahim, suffered the injury on the first day of the three-day practice match against the Cricket West Indies President's XI at the Coolidge Cricket Ground on June 10.

Yasir was unbeaten on 11 on the first day before being forced to retire hurt after complaining of back pain. Later, an MRI test revealed that the discomfort stemmed from discogenic pain in his lumbar spine.
