BPL to honour language month today

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is set to honour the International Mother Language Day on February 21 and the month of language movement, with special initiatives during the BPL matches on Friday, December 10, a BCB media release informed.

During today's BPL matches, the BCB will pay homage to Bangla language through various initiatives.

The commentators and the hosts of post-match presentations will be seen in special clothing with Bangla alphabet imprinted on them. The commentators will also hold discussions on the importance of International Mother Language Day during the matches in both Bangla and English.

Even the foreign commentators will be using a few Bangla words during their commentary alongside the Bangladeshi commentators. The interviews with local players before start of the match and the post-match presentations will also be held in Bangla while all the players, match officials, commentators and presenters will adorn armbands with Bangla letters.  

Quotes from the language month will appear on the big screen during the day's two games. Comilla Victorians will play Rangpur Riders in the first match before Fortune Barishal play Khulna Tigers in the evening match on Friday.
