The inclusion of former England batter Jason Roy failed to inspire Dhaka Capital as the new franchise suffered their fourth loss in four matches in the Bangladesh Premier League T20 with a seven-wicket defeat against table-toppers Rangpur Riders in Sylhet on Tuesday.

The capital side also welcomed Bangladeshi stars Mosaddek Hossain and Sabbir Rahman into the side, but were bowled out for 111 in 16.3 overs -- the lowest score in this edition of BPL -- after being put in to bat.

Roy (18), Habibur Rahman Sohan (14), Tanzid Hasan (20), Mosaddek (12) and Alauddin Babu (16) were the only batters to get into double digits. Speedster Nahid Rana took three wickets while Pakistani recruits Khushdil Shah and Akif Javed took two wickets each for Nurul Hasan Sohan-led side.

While Roy failed to make an impact, his compatriot Alex Hales continued to shine with an innings-high 44 as Rangpur chased down the target in 13.2 overs losing only three wickets in the process.

Khushdil, the second-highest wicket-taker so far of the tournament, played a cameo of unbeaten 27 off 13 deliveries to motor the Rangpur side to victory, which put them on 10 points from five matches, six clear of second-best Fortune Barishal and Khulna Tigers.
