Kohli, Pandya step up to steer India to 168
Virat Kohli continued his splendid form and Hardik Pandya rose to the occasion as India managed to post a par-score at the Adelaide Oval in the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup in Adelaide today.
Riding on two half-centuries from Kohli and Pandya, India tallied 168 for six after end of 20 overs.
Asked to bat first, India struggled in the first half of their innings, having lost both openers while the run-rate was kept in check by the disciplined English bowlers, led by leg-spinner Adil Rashid.
Once Rashid scalped the prized wicket of Suryakumar Yadav inside the 12th over, India looked in trouble. However, big players in Kohli and Pandya stepped up when it mattered as India batters accelerated their way to a par-score at the Adelaide Oval.
Pandya, especially, was on another level as he demonstrated the art of power hitting during his 33-ball 63, laced with five maximums and four boundaries.
Chris Jordan took three wickets for England but conceded 43 in four overs.
