There are lines of cashew trees on the hills of Rangamati and Bandarban. Cashew farming started in the 60s but the production has grown exponentially recently.

Earlier, the supply of cashew nuts in the Bangladeshi market was solely dependent on import. But as time went, the hilly cashew made its way to the local markets. The demand is also increasing.

As the farmers and businesses make more money the number of young entrepreneurs are also increasing.
