Tangail weavers hope for a festive boost after pandemic woes
The weaving industry of Tangail, known for its traditional handloom products, has been struggling to survive due to the impact of the pandemic in the last few years. The weavers and traders who depend on this industry usually look forward to four major occasions: Pahela Baishakh, Eid-ul-Fitr, Eid-ul-Azha and Durga Puja.
However, these festivals have not brought much business for them recently.
This year, without the pandemic looming over, they are hopeful that the upcoming festival season will bring a good day for their industry and help them overcome their misfortunes and miseries.
