What was the inspiration behind your acting career?
My father was a great inspiration for me. He used to organise 'jaatra' (street theatre) during festivals and I was a passionate audience of those performances. I think those village theatres motivated me a lot to adopt this art.
Acting, to you…
It is an art that has the power to take people into a different, imaginary world. By captivating our mind, it can deliver messages which cannot be told through any other art form.
Your acting mentor….
The legendary actor Mamunur Rashid, the iconic figure of Aranyak Natyadal.
What is your message to emerging actors?
My message to them is that please learn before you enter the industry. Acting is about art, not just being famous.
What is your upcoming performance?
It is a cinema titled Ainabaji directed by Amitabh Reza. I have performed the role of Aina, which is one of the most challenging roles I have ever played. Hopefully it will be released in the beginning of the new year.
