The green hills of Chittagong, covered in clouds, are one of the most serene landscapes in Bangladesh. These lush, evergreen mountainous rainforests studded with brooks and waterfalls and picturesque rivers and lakes with crystal clear water are home to some of the rarest species in the world. Many indigenous communities also live in these hills in perfect harmony with nature. However, Bengali settlers' intrusion, activities of several separatist groups and frequent military raids have made these hills a site of violent conflicts.
