'Cities for the Future' held at EMK Center
To celebrate World Habitat Day 2019 (October 7), a discussion titled, Cities for the Future, was held at the EMK Centre, recently. The purpose of this talk was to raise awareness on the importance of living in an environment-friendly city among the youth.
Khandoker Abdal Hosssain, Principal Architect of Reincarnation, was the key-speaker at the event. The architect has been honoured with several awards for his architectural works. His most prominent designs are Dhaka Regency Hotel and Grand Sultan Tea Resort & Golf in Sreemangal.
The session included a lecture on the essentials of building an eco-friendly smart city. The importance of public space was an important discussion topic at the event, among other issues. "We should all work to build a properly planned city," asserted Hossain. "Proper planning is the only way to sustainable urbanisation."
The session concluded with a group discussion where the audience suggested ideas in building a greener city.
