Last night, all litigations against Ziaul Faruq Apurba, including breach of contract and embezzlement, were resolved after the meeting with the Television and Digital Program Producers Association of Bangladesh (Telepab) and the Actors Equity took place on Saturday (March 16).
Actors Equity Bangladesh’s President Ahsan Habib Nasim, General Secretary MM Kamrul Hasan Rawnak, Organising Secretary Saju Khadem, and Law and Welfare Secretary Urmila Srabonti Kar have donated Tk 2.5 lakh each.
According to the association’s decision, Homayra's Janaza (funeral prayer) will be held at the Channel i courtyard in the capital city after the Jummah prayer today (November 3). This solemn occasion will allow her colleagues and the industry as a whole to pay their respects to the departed artiste. Following the prayer, Homayra will be laid to rest near Laxmipur, marking her final journey.
After hearing accounts of all parties, the committee came to a decision.
Yesterday, Actors Equity Bangladesh held a press conference to announce that they are launching a special legal wing to protect TV artistes. TV actress Sadia Jahan Prova had her session where she addressed her fear regarding journalists, and how she is trying to maintain distance from them as some even tried ‘touching’ her.
Yesterday, a special press meeting was organised where Ahsan Habib Nasim,President of Actors Equity, along with several artistes talked to the media about the alarming issues.
While a lot of people have expressed their opinions in protest of his remarks, majority of the cultural and arts background individuals have voiced their support for Mamunur Rashid
Eminent artistes like Dolly Zahur, Dilara Zaman, Suborna Mustafa, Mosharraf Karim, Mir Sabbir, Shahnaz Khushi, Jaya Ahsan, Azmeri Haque Badhan. Tanvin Sweety, Tariq Anam Khan all were present at the celebration.
