The film “Mujib: The Making of a Nation,” which chronicles the life of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was screened at Nandan yesterday (June 7), a traditional cultural center in Kolkata. This film is a joint production of India-Bangladesh.

The 22nd Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) officially kicks off today, featuring a lineup of around 250 films from 74 countries, including Bangladesh. The festival, spanning nine days from January 20 to January 28, will showcase 71 films from Bangladesh. Notably, the films “Mujib: The Making of a Nation” and “Fereshteh” will be available for viewing at the festival free of charge.
"Mujib: The Making of a Nation" has set a record in India by receiving a widespread release (yesterday) in 503 theaters, with the highest number of shows for a Bangladeshi film in the first week.
During the premiere, Shyam Benegal expressed, "To be honest, I've immensely enjoyed working on this film. It's a great honor that the Prime Minister of Bangladesh and Mujib's daughter, Sheikh Hasina, enjoyed the movie."
The film "Mujib: The Making of a Nation", based on the biography of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, directed by renowned director Shyam Benegal will be released in India on October 27. On that occasion, a special screening of the film was arranged in both Bengali and Hindi languages at the National Museum of India in Mumbai on Wednesday.
