Apple could release first full screen iPhone in 2024
We may expect a new iPhone with a completely full-screen display in the year 2024, according to Ming-Chi Kuo, a well-known Apple expert. Apple may shift both the front-facing camera and Face ID under the screen for its high-end handsets by then, according to Kuo. The iPhone 16 Pro is the most likely candidate for such an upgrade.
Kuo made this forecast in a pair of tweets, tying it to remarks he made last month, claiming that Apple would be unlikely to introduce any new iPhones featuring under-display fingerprint scanners in the next two years. According to Kuo, the need for Touch ID's comeback is primarily due to the surge in mask-wearing. However, since Apple improved Face ID's mask compatibility earlier this year, criticisms about its usability have almost vanished.
This year's iPhone 14, according to Kuo, will include an updated front-facing camera with autofocus and a larger aperture. However, it's unclear what Apple will do with the Face ID hardware required for this model. Before Apple is ready to relocate it under the display, some have speculated that it will be stored in a pill-shaped cut-out.
