Domino’s Pizza Bangladesh unveils AR pizza box
Incorporating MarTech (marketing technology) during festivity to generate user engagement is not new in Bangladesh, but it certainly reaches a new height every year.
This Ramadan, in a new MarTech campaign, Domino's Pizza Bangladesh has launched an AR (augmented reality) pizza box.
The box features a colourful illustration of the urban lifestyle and Ramadan festivity. It also includes a QR code that can be scanned to access a link to the AR filter. With the AR filter, the pizza box lights up and digitally illuminates.
Domino's Pizza Bangladesh collaborated with the local advertising agency Jarvis to produce the technology for the AR pizza box.
According to Domino's Pizza Bangladesh, the AR utilises Facebook filters to create a dazzling visual effect. The QR code enables the phone camera to turn on and activate the Facebook AR filter, making the pizza box light up.
The company has also stated that with the purchase of each new AR pizza box, one underprivileged person will be fed, courtesy of Domino's Pizza Bangladesh.
