Dhaka Weddings are a glorious affair, a celebration of two families coming together whilst the bride and groom take centre stage in the event. From the fresh flowers making up the decor, to the hairpin holding the brides hair up- all the minute details are paid attention to in this frenzy of extravagance. Weddings here in Bangladesh see the bride at her best even though she is a bundle of nerves- her beauty remains unparalleled while she exudes an aura of charm and inncocence. To celebrate and showcase this ethereal beauty that is the Bengali Bride VLCC presented The Beautiful Bride- an exhibition revealing the regal nuances of a Bengali bride in her best. This is wedding photography portraying the many different facets of the bride.

Five designer and photographer duos came together along with the creative Controllers of the show Style Guru; Shahrukh Amin and Beauty Diva Afroza Parveen. The four-day long exhibition was held on the premises of Gallery Chitrak in Dhanmondi. The atmosphere was that of a wedding carnival with snacks and drinks offering refreshments to all. Tones of white, reds and beads of pearls decorated the rooms displaying the photographs, while the photographs themselves are works of art. Each creative duo has designed wedding dresses and concepts portraying Brides in vintage, Muslim, Hindu, Christian and futuristic themes. The exhibition premises also featured stalls where visitors could apply henna, buy sweets and memorablia worth Tk.300 containing all the photographs displayed in the exhibition. A visual treat, this was a first time ever in Bangladesh and enchanted visitors, escpecially to-be brides.
