Can you forget to drink water?
Water detoxifies our body, boosts our immune system and stabilizes our digestion system along with improving other bodily functions. Not to mention we are mostly made of this stuff.
Necessary level of water consumption varies from 2-3 litres of water a day depending on age, weight, height, daily activities, weather or even medication. However, people forget to drink water making an eventual mess of their system. Here's how you don't forget.
Carry a bottle
Seeing a bottle of water nearby is a great reminder. Much like hearing the GoT intro music and feeling that you must watch an episode. Invest in a good vacuum flask or thermos that keeps water at your desired temperature for up to 24 hours.
These start at BDT 500 and help reduce the use of one-time plastic bottles that are harmful to the environment. Become cool, hydrated and a saviour of the environment all at once.
Flavoured water
Plain water can be meh. You can add zero-calorie drink mixes either in powder or liquid form. For subtle flavours try lemon, cucumber or different herbs. You can go all out making juices or smoothies from water-enriched fruits like melons. Coconut water can be reckoned as a suitable substitute since it is infused with plenty of essential antioxidants, vitamins, and other nutritious substances. Dhaka's Jigatola although has its own area based muddy flavoured water. Not recommended.
A digital push
There's an app for everything. Waterlogged, Drink Water Reminder, Kropla, Plant Nanny or Water Drink Reminder are just a few of the apps that help track progress and offer reminders to be hydrated.
In addition, whenever you come across a dehydration meme, make sure you take a sip of water while enjoying the content. However, take care maintaining the balance since drinking excessive water can result in several diseases that can be detrimental to health.
