“AI is likely to be the best or worst thing to happen to humanity.“

Stephen Hawking wasn’t very far off with that line as I watch Cyberdyne Systems churning out killer T800 Terminators crushing on puny human skulls. To me that is AI gone wild resulting from my childhood rooted in 80’s Schwarzenegger movies.

But for now, AI seems promising. It is replacing menial tasks allowing humans to really focus on skills that require thought, creativity and intuition. Sixty-three percent of people prefer to message a chat bot vs. talk with a human when communicating with a business. Data analysts will be freed from manual number crunching. Worldwide spending on artificial intelligence systems is forecast to reach $35.8 billion in 2019, an increase of 44% over the amount spent in 2018.

All this is great till someone starts building robots at a facility called Cyberdyne Systems. Oh, that is a real name of a real tech firm by the way.
