VIDEO GAMES FOR BEGINNERS

You might be looking to start off gaming but the many numbers and bars on the screen might make it look like a daunting task for a beginner. Here's what SHOUT has to offer to ease you into gaming like a pro (or at least on the weekends).
1. CALL OF DUTY 2
A quintessential first-person-shooter game, CoD 2 did everything better than its outstanding predecessor and truly cemented the long running series as the FPS games to beat. The game is set in World War 2 and is filled to the brim with action packed set pieces throughout the brilliantly paced and diverse campaign. Your experience throughout the various theatres of war across the globe will not be encumbering as the game is very friendly to beginners who have never played a shooter game before thanks to the accessible mechanics and helpful tutorials.
2. THE ELDER SCROLLS V: SKYRIM
The epic fantasy role playing game from Bethesda caters to RPG newbies and aficionados alike. You play as the Dragonborn or Dovahkiin, a powerful warrior capable of slaying dragons and wielding their power. The game is set in the huge beautiful open world of Skyrim in which you will forge your own destiny. While role playing games might be overly complex for beginners, Skyrim's flexible skill tree, simple combat, easy-to-use character creation and convenient inventory system allows newer players to actually experience the game in all its glory rather than fumbling around and trying to figure out how everything works. Mind you, it's extremely difficult to mess up Skyrim.
3. NEED FOR SPEED: MOST WANTED (2005)
If you desire the thrills of a high speed car chase throughout the streets, then Need for Speed Most Wanted is the game for you. It is a very good title to get started with racing games. The simple-arcady handling mechanics, diverse car customisation, spectacular police chases and myriad of game modes will keep you wanting more. Not to mention the fact that the game is also set in the open world, so you can pretty much drive on for ages in exotic cars and jump into the various races dotted across the map when you feel like it.
4. GRAND THEFT AUTO: SAN ANDREAS
The iconic open world game series from Rockstar has shaped many memories for gamers all around the world. The sheer scope of the things you are able to do in a world that is begging to be explored might seem a bit daunting at first but once you get used to the game's pacing, you will feel right at home with the beautiful city that this game is situated in. The rough violence, crime, police chases and fights, and all out gang wars will be an all too familiar sight for you as you indulge yourself in one of gaming's finest titles. You can also drive a nice firetruck if you're feeling rather peaceful.

5. PAPERS, PLEASE
This grim indie puzzle game puts you in the role of a paper-pusher who is tasked into checking peoples' papers as they cross the border into your fictional country. Does not sound like much but once you actually play this game, you will feel tense as you have to check for discrepancies and read between the lines, lest you let in a suicide bomber or a resistance agent who might cost you your job, throwing your family into poverty or worse. This is a great starter for people looking to get into indie puzzle games.
