Salman refuses dal-roti dinner, khichuri breakfast
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, who was sentenced yesterday to five years in jail for killing two endangered blackbucks, slept without dinner on his first night at Jodhpur Central Jail in India.
The celebrity was offered, as per the jail manual, chapatti, chana dal and cabbage subzi in dinner in the jail on Thursday night but he declined to eat, DIG (Jodhpur Range) Vikram Singh said today.
This morning, Salman, prisoner no. 106, was served tea and khichuri for breakfast but he again refused, our New Delhi correspondent reports quoting Vikram Singh.

The actor also complained about lesser number (8-9) of toilets in the jail where there are about 100 inmates and recalled his offer made in 2006 (when he was in the same jail for a week for his conviction for chinkara poaching) to fund construction of more toilets in the prison, Singh said.
Meanwhile, the Bollywood icon will have to spend at least another night in the jail as a higher court today said the hearing on his plea for suspension of the punishment will continue tomorrow.
The trial court in Jodhpur on Thursday found him guilty of killing two blackbucks in 1998 and sentenced him to five years in jail but acquitted four other Bollywood actors Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam Kothari.
Jodhpur District and Sessions Judge Ravinder Joshi this morning heard Salman's lawyers' arguments on his application for suspending the sentence and grant him bail.
Joshi ordered that the entire file relating to the case be placed before him and adjourned the hearing till tomorrow (Saturday).
The Bollywood superstar's lawyer HM Saraswat filed the bail application in the sessions court immediately after the sentencing on Thursday afternoon. He said an appeal against the conviction too will be filed soon after going through the verdict in detail.
Salman did not appear in the district and sessions court today when his lawyer reached there this morning.
