SUST to reopen residential halls tomorrow, resume classes online from Tuesday

Residential halls of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) in Sylhet will reopen tomorrow and classes will resume online from Tuesday.

An emergency syndicate meeting of the university made the decisions this evening, said Mohd Ishfaqul Hussain, registrar of the university, reports our Sylhet correspondent.

"If there is no further regulation from the government regarding Covid-19, physical classes and examinations will resume from February 22, the syndicate also decided," added the SUST registrar.

All classes and examinations at SUST were suspended till further notice in a syndicate decision following police action against protesting students on the campus on January 16 evening.

Meanwhile, SUST Vice Chancellor Prof Farid Uddin Ahmed today resumed his administrative activities physically from his office after 28 days since the students started their protests on campus demanding his resignation on January 16.
