STAR Cineplex now in Dhanmondi

STAR Cineplex, a pioneer for premiering blockbusters in Bangladesh, launched their second outlet through a festive celebration recently. Located at Shimanto Shambhar in Dhanmondi, the multiplex has a collective of three halls inside the facility. Equipped with the latest in film-screening technology, including Dolby Sound Systems, silver screens and much more, the new venture seems promising.

Chairman of ShowMotion Limited (STAR Cineplex), Mahboob Rahman inaugurated the celebration with his welcome address. It was followed by the speeches from the guests of honour - Dr Muhammad Hasan Mahmud, MP, Minister of Information; Engr Mosharraf Hossain, MP; and Major General Mohammad Shafinul Islam, NDC, PSC, Director General, Border Guard Bangladesh.

 “We have come a long way since 2004, and plan to go even longer, constantly upgrading our facilities to bring the best for the audience,” said Mahboob Rahman. “Our new cinema has a very energetic atmosphere with a club-like décor. We hope to cater to the modern youth.”

A multitude of faces from the entertainment arena, including the likes of Jaya Ahsan, Shakib Khan, Tauquir Ahmed, Bipasha Hayat, Animesh Aich, Ashna Habib Bhabna and many others were a part of the celebration. Hosted by Tasnim Zaman from ShowMotion Limited, the event concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony followed by refreshments. To end the evening, all the guests were invited for a screening of the blockbuster, Aquaman.
