'Debi' completes hundred days in theatres
The smash hit Debi, an adaptation of renowned author Humayun Ahmed's novel of the same name, recently marked the hundredth day of its release. On the occasion, Jaya Ahsan, who plays the role of Ranu in the film, shared a post, along with a video on her social media handles, expressing her gratitude. She wrote, “Congratulations to the entire cast and crew for the hard work. Immense thanks to the audience for the love. Keep the love flowing… Long way to go.” Jaya Ahsan also debuted as a producer with this film, which has struck a chord with the audience both at home and abroad. The film is currently running in four cinema theatres across Bangladesh, including Star Cineplex (Bashundhara City), Star Cineplex (Shimanto Shambar), Blockbuster Cinemas (Jamuna Future Park) and Silver Screen (Chattogram).
Chanchal Chowdhury, who is remarkable in the role of Misir Ali in Debi, also expressed his enthusiasm over the achievement. “I am delighted to see that the hard work of the entire Debi family has paid off. Playing Misir Ali was an honour and a privilege for me as an artiste,” he informed. Directed by Anam Biswas, the film also stars Animesh Aich and Shabnam Faria among others in pivotal roles.
