4th Global Youth Film Festival Bangladesh kicks off
The fourth installment of the Global Youth Film Festival begins today (December 26) at Bandarban.
Arranged by Cinema Bangladesh, the festival will be inaugurated by noted thespian and cultural personality Ramendu Majumdar.
Cinema Bangladesh was one of the 30 winners of the Joy Bangla Youth Award 2020.
The three-day arrangement will conclude on December 28 with screenings of 75 films from all over the world.
The festival has been encouraging young filmmakers since its inception with the slogan 'Let's Cinema'.
After Laxmipur, Rangpur and Mymensingh, they will host the event at Bandarband's auditorium of Khudra Nri-Gosthi Sangskritik Institute (KNGSI).
From one hundred and one countries, 1,400 films have been submitted by independent young filmmakers.
On the concluding day, seven films will be announced as winners.
The judging pannel includes noted filmmaker Morshedul Islam, Internationally acclaimed actor Babita, filmmaker Abu Sayeed, Producer and director Arifur Rahman, Editor of Show Time, Dhaka Tribune Sadia Khalid, and actor Trapa Majumdar.
Apart from previewing films, there will be a workshop on filmmaking.
Films like "Amar Bondhu Rashed", "Swapnajaal" and "No Dorai" will be screened in special category.
According to the organisers, the event will be completely supervised to maintain proper health safety guidelines. They have also mentioned that all the films will be free to watch during the festival.
