Ramendu Majumdar honoured in China

Ramendu Majumdar, former President (worldwide) of the International Theatre Institute (ITI) and now its honourary president, was awarded the ITI 70th anniversary medal on November 23. He was honoured for his outstanding long term commitment to ITI, in a Gala Ceremony held in the Hainan Opera House, in Haikou, Hainan, China. The 4-day anniversary celebration will come to an end today.

Two other former ITI Presidents - Jeong-Ok Kim of South Korea and Manfred Beilharz of Germany - were also honoured in the event.

200 foreign and Chinese delegates attended this celebration, along with Haikou Theatre Festival under the patronage of UNESCO. Another delegate from Bangladesh, Babul Biswas, Secretary of the ITI Publications Committee, was also present at the celebration.
