A 56-year-old man was arrested on charges of raping a five- year-old girl at the Faridpur Medical College Hospital canteen around 4:00pm on Thursday.

The arrestee Md Aminur of Purbo Khabaspur area in Faridpur town has been working as the manager of canteen for 24 years.

An intern doctor at the FMCH, who caught the alleged rapist, said, “I heard the screams of a girl from a bathroom beside the canteen while I was taking tea at the canteen. I rushed in time to see Aminur leaving the bathroom and called some of my classmates who helped me catch him."

Aminur was handed over to police after a mass beating. The victim was admitted to FMCH.

SM Khobirul Islam, Principal of the medical college, said Shakil Khan, president of Sandhani at the college, filed a case with Faridpur Sadar Police Station.

OC of the police station, AFM Nasin, “Police have already arrested Aminur on charges of raping a five year old and a case has been filed against him with the police station.”
