Krishi Bank wins remittance award

Bangladesh Krishi Bank has been awarded the "Remittance Award 2024" by the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment for the commercial lender's significant contribution to remittance inflows into the country in fiscal year 2023-24.

Asif Nazrul, adviser to the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, handed over the award to Sanchia Binte Ali, managing director of the bank, at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital recently, the bank said in a press release.

Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain, adviser to the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, attended the programme as a special guest.

The ministry organised the award-giving ceremony to celebrate International Migrants Day and National Expatriates' Day.

A total of ten banks were awarded at the event for remittance collection.

Top officials of the banks and ministries along with guests and organisers were also present.
