Another case filed against Eorange
Another case was filed against the controversial e-commerce platform Eorange's top brass in Chattogram over unfulfilled orders amounting to Tk 11 lakh.
The case was lodged by a businessman named Nurul Absar Parvej on behalf of two others with the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Hasan Md Reza against seven persons.
The accused are Eorange's Chairperson Sonia Mehjabin, Chief Executive Officer Masukur Rahman, Directors Sheikh Sohel Rana and Bithi Akter, Chief Operating Officer Amanullah Chowdhury, former COO Md Nazmul Hasan Russel and Director of HR & Admin Mohammad Zayedul Firoz.
The court took the case into cognisance and ordered the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to investigate the matter and take the necessary steps in this regard, said advocate Golam Mowla Murad, the plaintiff's lawyer.
This comes after Nasim Prodhan on behalf of 26 other victims on Sunday sued the seven members from Eorange's top brass for embezzling about Tk 9.54 crore from them.
Prodhan filed the case with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Morshed Al Mamun Bhuiyan.
The magistrate took cognisance of the case, recorded the complainant's statements and directed the officer-in-charge of Gulshan Police Station to register the complaint as a regular case.
On the same day, the Criminal Investigation Department of police sued Eorange for laundering Tk 232.4 crore that they had received from customers in advance payment for goods.
Mehjabin, Rahman, Chowdhury and Rassel are in jail, while Rana is in an Indian jail.
