Stocks keep rising
Stocks in Bangladesh continued to rise for the third consecutive day today amid higher participation of investors.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), gained 33 points, or 0.53 per cent, at 6,377 points. In the last three trading days, the index advanced 70 points.
Turnover at the DSE rose around 48 per cent to Tk 1,094 crore which was Tk 741 crore on the previous day.
The DS30, the index that consists of blue-chip companies, went up 0.74 per cent to 2,265 while the DSES, the Shariah-complaint index, increased 0.67 per cent to 1,402.
At the DSE, 73 securities advanced, 59 declined, and 219 remained the same.
Sinobangla Industries topped the gainers' list with a 30 per cent rise. Aftab Automobiles, Sena Kalyan Insurance, Basundhara Paper Mills and Navana Pharmaceuticals also advanced over 9 per cent.
Tamijuddin Textiles suffered the highest correction, sliding almost 8 per cent. Aramit Ltd, Bangladesh Lamps, Apex Foods, and ACI Formulations also came in the top losers' list.
