JU scraps freedom fighter’s grandchildren quota in admission tests

Jahangirnagar University (JU) has decided to abolish quotas allocated to freedom fighter's grandchildren and vice-chancellor (VC) in undergraduate admission.

The university's central admission committee, chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan, made the decision yesterday, said a press release.

According to the release, the pass mark for the admission test has been increased from 33 to 35.

Now, the students can compete in the admission tests under seven units instead of the10-unit earlier proposed.

Moreover, application fees have been reduced all the units.

Moreover, the admission committee approved the admission of up to four children of university employees per department, based on the merit list.
