3 JMB suspects held with bombs
Three alleged members of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) were detained with 23 bombs in Baghmara upazila of Rajshahi early today, says Rapid Action Battalion (Rab).
Rab members in a drive seized 16 crude bombs and seven petrol bombs from possession of the three JMB men at a mango orchard in Soguna Purba Para area around 3:30am, Alake Biswas, assistant superintendent of police (ASP) of Rab-5, told our Rajshahi correspondent.
The detainees are: Aminur Rahman, 35, of Gopalganj, Abu Sayeed Manik, 28, of Mymensingh, and Shahen Shah Tamim, 52, of Chandpur.
“The trio was planning to carry out subversive activities in March. They are being interrogated to find out any other terror links. The detainees will be handed over to police following primary interrogation,” ASP Alake said.
