3 killed in separate road crashes in Dhaka

Two men and a woman were killed in three separate road crashes in the capital today.

The identity of one of the deceased was Golam Mostafa, 45, a bus helper, who was run over by the bus he was working on, at 1:30am at Gabtoli bus station.

Mostafa was hit when the bus was turning to park, said Mostafa’s son Mohammad Sabuz.  

In another accident, a truck ran over an unknown woman, 80, at the city’s Naya Paltan area around 12:55am, according to Paltan police station. Police have seized the truck and arrested the driver.

The third accident occurred around 4:00pm. A 50-year-old man was run over at Shahbagh.

The man was declared dead by doctors on duty at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said inspector Mozammel Hoque, in charge of the police camp at DMCH.  

Bodies of the victims have been kept at the Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy.
