Banani murder suspect ‘murders’ again, gets caught
A suspect in last year's Banani manpower businessman murder was caught by locals and handed over to police while he was fleeing away after reportedly killing another man in Dhaka's Badda area this afternoon.
Nurul Islam alias Nuree was handed over to police along with his pistol, Kazi Wazed Ali, officer-in-charge of Badda Police Station, told The Daily Star.
The victim, Badsha, who was also a suspected criminal, succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital hours after Nurul Islam reportedly shot him near the Fish market in Merul Badda around 1:00 pm, the OC added.
The police were searching for Nurul Islam since the murder of the manpower businessman, Siddik Hossen Munshi, in Banani, Mohammad Shahjahan, assistant deputy commissioner (ADC), told The Daily Star.
He was identified as one of the four murder suspects seen on the CCTV footage, he said.
In primary interrogation, Nuree confessed to killing his associate Badsha following a dispute over distribution of money between them, he added.
Four criminals, aged between 25 and 30, entered the office of Munshi Overseas on the ground floor of a four-storey building on Road-4 of Banani around 7:50 pm on November 14 last year.
They shot Siddik Hossen Munshi, 50, the owner of the agency, and his staff members Mostak Hossain, 39, Mokhlesur Rahman Muslehuddin, 35, and Miraz Parvez, 30, before leaving the office. Later, Siddik succumbed to his injuries at United Hospital.
On December 8, 2017, two people, earlier identified by police as suspects in the murder of Banani manpower businessman, were killed in a "shootout" between detectives and their cohorts in the capital's Badda.
