Dhaka raid: 5 detainees on remand
A Dhaka court today placed five persons including the owner of Taj Manzil and her son on a two-day remand for giving shelter to militants killed at a flat of the building.
Metropolitan Magistrate Khurshid Alam granted their remand after Md Sazzad Hossain, Inspector (Investigation) of Mirpur Model Police Station and also investigation officer in the case, produced them before the court seeking 10-day remand for each.

The arrestees are owner of the house Momtaj Parveen, 60, her son Mazharul Islam, 42, Mahfujul Anfal, 27, Momin Uddin, 45, and Zakir Hossain, 40.
A case was filed against the five on August, 1, 2016 in Mirpur Model Police Station bringing allegation of sheltering militants, hiding information and barring police from performing their duty.
Nine alleged militants were killed on July 26, 2016 during a special drive of the joint forces in Kalyanpur, ending an overnight standoff that ensued with a raid to hunt down “militant den”.
