Minor girl ‘raped’ by neighbour in Dhaka

A three-year-old girl has been raped allegedly by an adolescent neighbour boy in Dhaka’s Hazaribagh area.

Police arrested one Ridoy, 15, in a case filed by the victim’s father with Hazaribagh Police Station, said Ekram Ali Mia, officer-in-charge of the station.

The victim lives with her family on the top floor of a three-storey building in the area. On Sunday afternoon, she went to the rooftop around 5:00pm when Ridoy, a tenant on the ground floor of the building, was flying a kite there.

At one stage, Ridoy called the girl and raped her, according to the case statement.

The family came to know about the incident when the girl complained of pain in her genital, the OC said, adding that the victim was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for medical test today.
