Youth beaten, tied to tree at DMCH
An unidentified “mentally challenged” and critically wounded youth was found tied to a tree in front of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital today.
The youth, aged around 22, was seen lying at unconscious state with severe injury marks on different parts of his body and tied to a tree around 2:30pm in front of the emergency gate of the hospital.
The local hawkers and shop owners told our correspondent that some people beat and tied him up as he indiscriminately vandalised many shops and attacked passersby there.
On information, the policemen at the DMCH outpost rescued him and taken to the hospital later.
The youth was admitted to DMCH neurosurgery unit by a student of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) three days ago, Sub-inspector (SI) Bacchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH police outpost, told The Daily Star.
But today, he somehow escaped from the hospital, vandalised the ward and went to the street where he was seen attacking people and frantically vandalising shops.
He was taken to the ward again, he said.
