Youth stabbed dead in Mohammadpur

Unidentified miscreants stabbed a youth to death in Mohammadpur area of Dhaka early today.

Md Tasir, 25, an office assistant of Chan Mia Housing Society, was stabbed around 1:00am inside the housing area, Md Hasibur Rahman, inspector of Mohammadpur Police Station, said.

He was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 2:50am where he was pronounced dead, said Sub-inspector (SI) Bacchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH police outpost.

“His body bore injury marks inflicted with sharp weapon,” the SI said.

“Primarily we suspect he was murdered over establishing supremacy in the area. We are investigating into the incident,” Mohammadpur police Inspector Hasibur added.

The body was kept at Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy.
