2 soldiers killed in Cox’s Bazar road crash
-Two army men killed and two injured
-Pickup van hit tree after losing control
-Accident took place on way to Ramu cantonment
Two members of Bangladesh Army were killed and two others injured in a road accident in Chakaria upazila of Cox’s Bazar this evening.
Soldiers Shafiqur Rahman Raju and Nayeem died on the spot as their pickup van hit a roadside tree after losing control around 7:45pm, said Sub-Inspector Anwar Hossain, in-charge of Dulahazra Malumghat Highway Police.
Two other soldiers, who could not be named immediately, were injured in the accident that took place at Khotakhali Selim Future Park area on the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway on their way to the newly-built cantonment in Ramu, the SI added.
The injured were rushed to Dulahazra Malumghat Christian Memorial Hospital, reports our Cox’s Bazar correspondent.
Sources at the Ramu cantonment also confirmed the incident to our correspondent, identifying the victims as soldiers.
