2 children avert train accident in Rajshahi
Two children saved a freight train from an impending accident near Arani Railway Station in Rajshahi today.
The two children, Shihab and Titon, while going to their day labourers’ job around 9:00am, noticed an old part of the railway track broken near Jhina rail crossing, said Arani Station Master Nayan Ahmed.
As they saw that a Rajshahi-bound freight train was heading towards the station, they waved their red muffler to stop the train, the station master told our Rajshahi staff correspondent.
Noticing their signal, the train driver managed to stop the train, averting a possible accident, he said quoting the train driver.
The rail communication of Rajshahi with Dhaka was snapped for two hours due to repair work, said Ashim Kumar Talukdar, divisional railway manager.
The rail communication resumed at 11:00am, he added.
