2 youths killed as train hits them in Dinajpur

 Two youths were killed as a train hit them in Hakimpur upazila of Dinajpur today.

Locals identified one of the deceased as Md Razu, 25, of Nawpara village in the upazila, reports our Dinajpur correspondent.

Witnesses said Drutojan Express, a Dhaka-bound intercity train from Dinajpur, hit them at Satkuri village around 11:10am when they were walking on the tracks, leaving both of them dead on the spot.

The train driver whistled to warn them but failed as both the youths were talking on the cell phone, Md Kuddus, a witness, said.

Mokhlesur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Hakimpur Police Station, confirmed the accident.
