3 female students die from Naogaon electrocution

Three female students were electrocuted to death and thirteen others injured in a residential madrasa in Manda upazila of Naogaon this evening.

The deceased were identified as Atia, 13, Mim, 12, and Sharmin, 12. They were all resident students of the Shotihaat Adarsha Mohila Hafezia Madrasa, reports our Rajshahi correspondent.

An electric short circuit in the madrasa building around 5:30pm caused the death of the girls, injuries to 13 others, Mozaffar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Manda Police Station, told the Daily Star.

Of the injured, three were in critical condition and have been shifted to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH), the police official added.

All other injured are receiving treatment at different health complexes in Manda.
